TEEN+ Methods

Tobacco Product Retail Sales Data Analysis

One of our primary program activities is the analysis of retail scanner sales data for e-cigarettes and other tobacco products. We investigate thousands of tobacco products on the United States market, identifying and analyzing key characteristics of each product and rigorously quantifying sales in relation to tobacco flavor policies. This information can help identify trends in consumer behavior and policy effectiveness in the United States.

Tobacco Epidemic Evaluation Network (TEEN+) Study

The TEEN+ Study is a national longitudinal study of youth and young adults in the United States with additional sampling in several select states, TEEN+ data can be used to provide nationally-representative estimates and state-representative estimates for select states. The TEEN+ Study invites young people (13-24 years of age at baseline) to complete an online survey of tobacco product use; marijuana use and related knowledge and attitudes.

The TEEN+ Data Brief Issue 1 includes nationally-representative findings related to e-cigarette use among youth and young adults from February-June 2024.
